• Georeferencing Method

  Georeferencing Quick Reference Guide, Version 2012. Georeferenced to the approximate geogrpahic center of Rio Xeriuini in Mun. Caracaraí, Roraima. Used Google Maps - Earth View to locate Rio Xeriuini, a tributary of Rio Branco. Used the Google Maps - Measurement Tool to measure a straight line between the approximate geographic center of the mouth of the river (confluience of Rio Xeriuini and Rio Branco) to the headwaters of Rio Xeriuini (approximated through the dense forest cover), then halved this distance to find the midpoint of the line. CHose a point along Rio Xeriuini nearest to the midpoint of the line; used Google Maps - What's Here Tool to find the coordinates of the midpoint of the river. Used the Google Maps - MEausure Distance Tool again to find the linera extent by meausring from the selected coordinates to the farthest extnet of the river. Input coordinates, linear extnet (117480.0 m), and measuremetn error (2.5 m) into the MaNIS Georeferencing Claculator to find the uncertainty radius (according to Georeferencing Quick Reference Guide, Nmaed Place: River, stream, road, path).
