Georeferencing Method
Georeferencing Quick Reference Guide, Version 2012. Georeferenced to 4 km southward (more accurately southeast) along the road which connects Porto Velho and Cuiabá, BR-364, from the approximate geographic center of the village of Nova Vida in Mun. Cacaulândia, Rondônia. Using Google Maps - Satellite View, located Nova Vida. Located the road which connects the cities of Porto Velho and Cuiabá, BR-364. Beginning at the approximate geographic center of Nova Vida, measured approximately 4 km (4.00011 km) along road BR-364 toward Cuiabá. Used Canadensys Lat/Long Crosshairs to find the coordinates of the offset, along the road. Used the Distance Measurement Tool (Google Maps) again to find the linear extent of the Nova Vida by measuring from the approximate geographic center of the village to the nearest named place, Estrella, and halving this distance (village does not have defined spatial boundaries). Input coordinates, linear extent (6.1802 km), measurement error (.0005 km), and distance precision (1 km) into the MaNIS Georeferencing Calculator to find the uncertainty radius.
