United States of America. Arizona. Pima Co. Santa Catalina Mountains, Sabino Canyon, about 2 miles above Forest Service Caretaker's Cottage.

Habitat
Semishade, moist stream bank. Upper Sonoran: Salix sp., Platanus wrightii. Rare. Granite rock and sand.

Description
Tree 24 ft., spread 15 ft., trunk diameter 12 inches at 4 ft. Straight central axis, dull gray green foliage, cones remaining on tree for several seasons without opening. Bark rough and fibrous for first 15 ft., then smooth and a little reddish gray. Branches smooth gray-red but not polished. This is the only tree in this area with fruits, with 3 other trees nearby. We hiked up the canyon at least a mile without finding cypresses. Phenology of specimen: Fruit.
