Sun, dry, southwest slope, ridge. Arid Transition: Pseudotsuga, Garrya, Cercocarpus. Limestone rock.

Description
Tree 32 ft., spread 17 ft., trunk diameter 24 inches, no taper. This an old, over-mature tree with top sparse and windswept, with many cones. Large lower branches dead, first living branches at 12 ft. (cut for wood sample). Bark of main trunk over an inch thick, gray and shreddy. Foliage dusty-green. Phenology of specimen: Fruit.
