United States of America. Arizona. Gila Co. Along East Verde River at mouth of Sycamore Creek, 6.2 miles north of Payson.

Sun, moist edge of creek bed. Arid transition: sycamores, Alnus, Arizona ash. Scattered. Dec. granite rock.

Description
Tree 42 ft., spread 30 ft., trunk diameter 5 ft. at ground. These trees are scattered and are the first seen after leaving Payson, but up Sycamore Creek for about 4 miles the trees are common to abundant. This specimen is a magnificent old giant, an over-mature tree with rather rough bark 2 inches thick, but easily peeled off and not fibrous. The younger trees nearby are more like those on Rye Creek, Seeds of other trees examined and only one lightly glaucous, the rest like those of No. 11426. Phenology of specimen: Fruit.
