    Mexico. Guerrero. Close to the small track running SSW from Mezcala towards Carizalillo and Amatitlán, on steep rocky slopes above the dry valley of the Río Xochipila, about 10 km from Mezcala.

  • Habitat

    Scattered on rocky slopes in dry forest with Bursera, Acacia, Leucana Haematoxylon, Coursetia and Mimosa. Abundant.

  • Description

    Small multiple-stemmed tree; small, to 4 m ht. Outer bark thin and papery,mid grey, inner bark green then dark red. Leaves discolourous, mid green .above paler below; large green stipules. Flower heads sparse, sweetly scented. Calyx pale greenish cream, corola pale green tinged maroon on lobe tips, stamens and style white, anthers pale yellow. Unripe pods pale to mid green with a dusky hue. Phenology of specimen: Flower, Fruit.
