Heads yellow, with 13-18 rays, these sterile with reduced pappus; Achenes thickened, with a pappus of 2 palaceous awns and several shorter, fimbriate scales; Leaves mostly or all alternate; Arbusto: Soft shrubs; 2 m tall.
