Habitat
Scattered on roadside cuttings and as an understorey tree in dry forest with Leucana shannonii, Lysiloma and Albizia. Common.

Description
Small, contorted branchy tree to 3 m. ht. BArk mid brownish grey, smooth, inner bark cinnamon brown. Leaves bright green slightly glossy above. Flowers arranged in showy heteromorphic heads above shoots, each head with an enlarged central flower. Calyx yellow, corolla yellow green tinged pinkish orange, stamen filaments and style white to half length the pink or scarlet, anthers orange;. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
