Description
A lofty tree climber; stem terete, 1-3 inches thick, crocked, very flexible and tough, occasionally rebranched, also crocked, forming dense masses the free portions hanging from its support; twigs short, suberect; bark brown, lenticelled, with a reddish juice, wood burly, reddish brown except the thin whitish sapwood, slightly foetid, tasteless; leaves coriaceous, descendingly curved, folded upon the upper shining green surface, paler beneath, petioles and petiolules yellowish green; infrutescence suberect; young fruits elongated obovoid, 3/4 inch long, or tapering at both ends, turning yellowish, with a single ovule. Phenology of specimen: Fruit.
