Mexico. Oaxaca. Close to the main road running W from Puerto Escondido towards Pinotepa Nacional near the small village of Cacalote which lies about 15 km E of the small town of Rio Grande on the narrow coastal plains south of the Sierra Mader del Sur about 3 km inland.

Habitat
Scattered across dry flood plain with sandy soils with Leucana lanceolata, Senna, Caesalpinia, GUazuma and Albizia occidentalis. Common.

Description
Ripe and unripe pods turning from green to orange-brown when ripe; Arbol: Tree; 15 m ht.; Multiple stemmed. Foliage slightly discolorous, mid green above paler below. [See label for further plant description.].
