Habitat
At the edges of semi stagnant channels of meandering river. Secondary growth in thickets with Inga sp. and other trees and shrubs. Common.

Description
Tree 15 ft. tall, several trunks for each individual. Flowers white, with a slight sweet scent; visited by butterflies. Fruits dehisce over water, apparently dispersing seeds by flotation. Phenology of specimen: Flower, Fruit.
