Mexico. Veracruz. 200 yards from the Gulf of México, at river edge along the Río Maquina flood plain.

Habitat
At river edge. River might be brackish at times.Thicket of approximately 3 individuals, 14 trunks within 10 linear ft., some extend 20 ft. from shore at water level. Similar plants seen in similar habitats nearby Balzapote and La Palma.

Description
Trees, 20 ft. tall. Roots fibrous some exposed in water. Bark smooth and moss covered. Flowers white with magenta filament tips, scent like honeysuckle.
