  • Description

    Stipe: 8-12 cm x 6-15 mm (midpart), unequal, tapering toward apex and becoming somewhat bulbous near base. pileus 5.5-9 cm broad at first nearly hemispherical then becoming nearly plane; surface tomentose caused by tufts of erect hyphae which increases somewhat towards center; color 7.5 P 3/1.8 to 3/2, darker (7.5:2/1.5), occassionally become lighter towards margin, here 10P4/2.3. Cortex, thick at center rather than toward margin 7.5:6/2.3. see inside box for illegible notes. Phenology of specimen: Basidiomata.
