Using Google Maps - Satellite View, located the city of Lábrea, Amazonas, which sits along Rio Purus. Used Canadensys Lat/Long Crosshairs to find the coordinates of the geographic center of the city. Because the city of Lábrea does not have defined spatial boundaries, used Distance Measurement Tool (Google Maps) to find the linear extent by measuring from the selected coordinates to the approximate geographic center of the nearest named place, the city of Canutama, then halving this distance. To find 2 km. north offset: input coordinates, linear extent (46763.35 m.), measurement error (.01 m.), offset direction (N), offset distance (2000 m.), and distance precision (100 m.) into the MaNIS Georeferencing Calculator to find the offset coordinates and uncertainty radius (according to Georeferencing Quick Reference Guide, Offset: Offset at a heading). Site is located in the Brazilian state of Amazonas, not Acre.
