Brazil. Bahia. Morro do Chapeu. Rio do Ferro Doido, 10.5 km. S.E. of Morro do Chapeu on the BA 052 highway to Mundo Novo.

Habitat
With water-worn horizontally bedded sandstone at soil surface, with damp sand, sedge-marsh, exposed rock and waterfall. Vegetation open scrub to closed low woodland in drier areas.

Description
Spindly shrub to ca. 1.5 m with straight erect stems and branches. Leaves slightly fleshy, grey-green, slightly rugose, grey beneath. Slightly aromatic. Calyx dark blackish-purplish-tinged or greenish. Corolla blue with darker central band surrounded on each side by white on two upper lobes and 2 laterals. labellum rather dark blue. Fruiting. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
