Georeferencing Method
Georeferencing Quick Reference Guide, Version 2012. Georeferenced to 23 km. south of the Tucuruí Dam along BR-422 (Tucuruí-Novo Repartimento road) in município Tucuruí. Using Google Maps - Satellite View, located where road BR-422 meets the access road of the Tucuruí Dam in Tucuruí, Pará. Starting at this location (junction of BR-422 and road toward Tucuruí Dam), used Distance Measurement Tool (Google Maps) to measure approximately 23 km. (23.0004 km.) south along this road toward Novo Repartimento. Used Canadensys Lat/Long Crosshairs to find the coordinates at this offset along BR-422. Used Distance Measurement Tool (Google Maps) again to find linear extent by measuring from the starting location of the offset (junction of BR-422 and road toward Turucuí Dam) to the geographic center of the Dam. Input coordinates, linear extent (4427.29 m.), measurement error (.01 m.), and distance precision (100 m.) into the MaNIS Georeferencing Calculator to find the uncertainty radius.
