    Subshrub, many branched ascending stems from taproot, to 1 m long, rising to 30 cm tall. Corolla tube whitish, the 4 limbs lavender. Stigmas & anthers pale white. Phenology of specimen: Flower.

General vegetation: campo cerrado on upland (or occasionally
forest). Open marsh or dense secondary forest along streams.
This habitat: abandoned cultivated field behind main house of
fazenda, with dense growth of grasses & herbs 3-4 dm. tall. Poor
soil, reddish-brown fine sand with a little clay. Originally cerrado
vegetation.
