Bolivia. La Paz. Abel Iturralde Prov. "Pampas del Madidi" area of the middle reaches of the Rio Madidi basin: "Campamento Permanente" on the N shore of the Rio Madidi, ca. 15.6 linear km NE of the confluence with the Rio Enatahua (Rio Inambari according to one guide), pampas toward the tractor track and abandonded farmsteads, ca. 1-2.5 km N and E of camp.

Habitat
Savanna, mostly well-drained, but with a wet portion near a seepage, with scattered trees and tree islands, clay soils, flat terrain.

Description
Tree, growing in forest at border of savanna, ca. 10 m tall, leaves dark green above, light green beneath, fruits massive, tan-brown; SILICA COLLECTION.
