Bolivia. La Paz. Abel Iturralde Prov. "Pampas del Madidi" area of the middle reaches of the Rio Madidi basin: "Campamento Permanente" on the N shore of the Rio Madidi, ca. 15.6 linear km NE of the confluence with the Rio Enatahua (Rio Inambari according to one guide), pampas ca. 1.2 km N of camp.

Well-drained savanna with scattered trees and tree islands on clay soils, flat terrain.

Description
Shrub, ca. 1 m tall, leaves shiny dark green above, light green beneath, inflorescence axes tan, calyces tannish green, petals light purple, filaments and anthers darker purple; SILICA COLLECTION. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
