Habitat
Moist cloud forest, and drier more exposed ridge. With Miconia, Mecranium, Ilex, Clethra, Schefflera, Myrsine, Myrica, Lyonia, Pteridium, Cephaelis, Blakea, Conostegia. Clay soil.

Description
Locally common tree to ca. 12 m tall; flowers white, anthers usually 4, yellow (actinomorphic); branches more or less plagiotropic/sympodial. Phenology of specimen: Fruit.
