Haiti. Sud. Massif de la Hotte, western group; Morne Formon, along trail from ridge of mountain down into the Ravine du Sud.

Habitat
Moist forest of Pinus occidentalis intermixed with cloud forest, at lower elevations intergrading with moist forest on limestone. With M. barkeri and M. hypiodes at higher elevations. Common.

Description
Shrub to 4 m tall; fruits red when immature, but becoming pale blue at maturity. Phenology of specimen: Fruit.
