Dominican Republic. Distrito Nacional. Cordillera Central; Loma Mariana Chica, ca. 6 km west of Villa Altagracia. 150-775 m elev. (but occurring just on peak and ridge).

Habitat
Disturbed moist montane forest at peak (and ridge) of mountain, lower elevations with very patchy and disturbed moist forest. Occasional locally.

Description
Branches rigidly ascending; new growth bright red. Shrub to 4 m tall; petals pale pink, reflexed; stamens white, actinomorphic; style white; fruits purple, turning sky blue at maturity. Leaves with major veins impressed. Phenology of specimen: Flower, Fruit.
