    Haiti. Sud-Est. Massif de la Selle; E of Seguin on "old road" to Mare Rouge (drivable about 10 yrs ago, now only passable on foot or by horse); ca. 6-7 km E of Seguin (2 hrs by horse) on this road, which runs along S edge of Parc National Morne la Visite; 1775-1900 m.

  • Habitat

    Mosaic of pinelands (Pinus occidentalis), cleared fields, pastures, and disturbed cloud forest; some pinelands are open and recently burned, others with dense shrubby understory. In pineland. Locally common.

  • Description

    Shrub to 3 m tall; lvs. with midvein impressed, secondary veins slightly impressed; young fruits reddish. Phenology of specimen: Fruit.
