Habitat
Steep slopes on massive red sandstone and shale. Forest with Tipuana tipu, some converted to grassy savanna-like pasture.

Description
Roadside weed, erect herbs. Rays with a rather odd red or orange-red color, bright when young, but becoming somewhat faded and more pale with age.
