Cloud forest with Podocarpus, Hedyosmum, Miconia, Meriania, Cyrilla, Myrsine, Ilex, Psychotria, Cestrum, Alsophila, Cyathea, and Chusquea. Common.

Description
Shrub ca. 3 m tall with brown-gray bark. Young inflorescence red-purple, covered with ferrugineus hairs. Phenology of specimen: Fertile.
