Dominican Republic. Pedernales. Along the International Highway (Route 541), several km north of Pedernales, La Manigua, between Cabeza de Agua and Los Arroyos.

Habitat
Main forest, near roadside, with Mucuna urens, Piper, M. laevigata. Locally common.

Description
Shrub ca. 2.5 m tall. Fruits green to purple-black. Flower buds white. Growing with M. laevigata and with significantly larger fruits, and also distinctively different inflorescence form. Phenology of specimen: Fruit.
