Habitat
Actively grazed banks and meadow above meanders of river, soft fine pumice soil, becoming alkalinek streambanks of dense thatch of Carex nebrascnesis, Juncus balticus, Hordeum spp., Glaux maritima, Cirsium scariosus, Iris missouriensis, Sisyrinchium halophilum, saltagrass meadows dominated by Distichlis spicata, Pyrrocoma lanceolata, occasional rhizomed colonies clinging to riverbank, more depauperate on dry flats above.
