Georeferencing Method
Georeferencing Quick Reference Guide, Version 2012. Note: Unable to find the precise location of "igarapé Tinguelingue;" georeferenced to the village of São Miguel in the Monte Dourado area of Almeirim, Pará. Using Google Maps - Satellite View, located the approximate geographic center of the village of São Miguel. Used Canadensys Lat/Long Crosshairs to find the coordinates of the approximate geographic center of the village. Because the village does not have defined spatial boundaries, used Distance Measurement Tool (Google Maps) to approximate linear extent by measuring from the selected coordinates to the geographic center of the nearest named place, village of Nova Vida, then halving this distance. Input coordinates, linear extent (4261.91 m.), and measurement error (.01 m.) into the MaNIS Georeferencing Calculator to find the uncertainty radius (according to Georeferencing Quick Reference Guide, Named Place: Undefined Area).
