  • Georeferencing Method

Georeferencing Quick Reference Guide, Version 2012. Georeferenced to the geographic center of Ilha das Anavilhanas (synonmyous with Arquipélago de Anavilhanas). Used wikimapia website (http://wikimapia.org/#lang=en&lat=-2.723583&lon=-60.913696&z=9&m=b&v=8&tag=46520&search=arquip%C3%A9lago%20de%20Anavilhanas) to find the location of Arquipélago de Anavilhanas along Rio Negro in Amazonas, BR. Using Google Maps, located Arquipélago de Anavilhanas. Used distance measurement tool to measure total extent of Arquipélago de Anavilhanas; halved this extent to approximate the location of the geographic center of the area. Used Canadensys Lat/Long Crosshairs to find the coordinates of the geographic center. Used distance measurement tool (Google Maps) to find linear extent by measuring from the selected coordinates to the farthest extent of Arquipélago de Anavilhanas.
