Description
Stems cespitose, forming colonies in water at margin of lake (black water), ca 4 m tall, 4 cm diam, with rings of black spines to 3 cm long, very. Leaves 4-5; sheath 23 cm long , very fibrous, the "hollow"inside with ants nests; petiole 24cm l.
