Ecuador. Napo. Tena (Canton). At South West base of Galeras Cordillera, on east side of Pusuno River.

Primary montane rain forest, tierra firme on slope near river.

Description
Tree. Midstory, solitary, root cone, stem ca. 6m tall, thickness 5cm. Internode length 2-3 cm, texture smooth, crownshaft absent. 18 leaves per stem, sheath open, sheath length 30-40cm, petiole section margined, petiole 136 cm long. Rachis 91 cm long. Lamina pinnate, width 80cm, length 143 cm. Lamina structure flat, 10 pinnae per side of rachis. Pinnae insertion grouped only the 2 lowest ones sometimes. Middle pinnae length 60cm. Inflorescence interfoliar, prophyll herbaceous, length 26cm, width 5cm. 13 rachillae per rachis, the longest rachillae 38 cm, the shortest 35 cm. Fruits black, mature rachillae red. Phenology of specimen: Fruit.
