Ecuador. Napo. Tena (Canton). At South West base of Galeras Cordillera, 1 hour before Pusuno River, place called Mondacachi.

Primary montane rain forest, tierra firme on slope near river.

Description
Shrub. Understory, cespitose, stem ca. 2m tall, thickness 1.5 cm. Internode length 7 cm, crownshaft absent. 8 leaves per stem, sheath open, sheath length 8 cm long, petiole section round, rachis 19 cm long. Lamina entire, width26cm, length 45 cm. Lamina structure flat. Pinnae insertion regular. Middle pinnae length 28 cm. Inflorescence infraoliar, prophyll herbaceous, peduncle 2 cm long, peduncle width 2cm. 5 rachillae per rachis, rachillae 5 cm long. Fruits immature green, mature red/orange with black strains. Phenology of specimen: Fruit.
