Habitat
Moist montane forest (in ravines and some slopes) or moist Pinus occidentalis forest (on ridges and some slopes). Plants of moist montane forest, not along rivers or in pine forest (as the related Miconia sp. nov.). In ravine (Palo de Cuello). Locally common.

Shrub; petals reflexed, pink; stamens white. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
