    Dense population in low-lying moist level area, sympatric with equally large population of Rapatea paludosa, flowering at same time.

  • Description

    herb. Terrestrial herb to 1.2m, flowers yellow. Always one inflorescence per plant (or ramet), few flowers open at a time. Copious mucilage in axils of leaves. Base of outer leaves speckled with purple.
