Location

United States of America. New York. Putnam Co. ca 7 km W of New York/Connecticut border and ca 10 km N of Putnam/Westchester border, Ice Pond Conservation Area, E of Ice Pond Rd, W of Co. Rd 62 (Farm to Market Rd), N of Rte 312 and S of Rte 164.

Habitat

Palustrine System. Forested Mineral Soil Wetlands-Hemlock-hardwood swamp.

Description

Herb, the stolons or rhizomes long, fleshy; leaf blade abaxials subglaucous; phyllaries very pale green/yellow, the rays 6-8, white, the disk yellow. There are several plants of this species growing in a small area of a few meters. This is the only population I've found at Ice Pond so far. The "normal" plants on this specimen are larger and have better developed capitula than the sympatric "abnormal" plants (Atha 8035) which are smaller and have poorly developed capitula. Phenology of specimen: Fertile.
