Habitat
Disturbed moist montane forest at peak (and ridge) of mountain, lower elevations with very patchy and disturbed moist forest. 150-775 m elev. Growing with Clidemia hirta. Common.

Description
Shrub or small tree to 4 m tall; flowers white, anthers yellow. Branches rigidly ascending; new growth bright red. Phenology of specimen: Flower, Fruit.
