Brazil. Tocantins. Gurupi Mun. South edge of city of Gurupi, a few hundred meters W of Belém-Brasília highway and ca. 1 km N of brook that lines south edge of city.

Habitat
Flat land with "cerrado" xeromorphic scrub vegetation of scattered trees to 7 m tall, plus dense shrubbery 1-4 m tall (area somewhat disturbed due to cutting and fire). Lateritic hardpan exposed on ground surface like large rocks.

Description
Shrub 2½ m tall. Sepals yellow with green median stripe on outer surface, all yellow on inner surface. Petals & anthers golden-yellow. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
