Habitat
Plants growing from fractures on a lava ridge. Associated with Artemisia tridentata wyomingensis, Gutierrezia sarothae, Chaenactis douglasii, Phlox hoodii, Opuntia polyacantha, Castilleja angustifolia, Astragalus calycosus. Common. Very shallow sandy soil.
