  • Specimen Notes

A letter is clipped to this specimen: "April 16th 1891. Dr. N.L. Britton, Columbia College, New York. Dear Sir, I find time now and then to work a little at our duplucates and am now about half through the Guanopetatae [?]. I send you today a packet containing specimens of all species of which we have duplicates and which have not already been sent you. You asked us some time ago to send you specimens of as many eastern species as possible and I include a few that have lately been recieved from Ontario collections. The packet also contains some old duplicates of U.S. plants that are probably of no use to you but some one you know may care to have them on account of their age. I enclose a little list of doubtful species of which we would be glad of your opinion when you have had time to look over them. Kindly return that list with any corrections you may suggest. If this Centunculus minimus is all right is it not odd that it should not have been found before in the east? Did you know that Epipactis had been found in abundance near Toronto last season? I find that we have no duplicate specimens of the plants Dr. Morong asked for. Will you please tell him so?. Yours Truly, Dr. M. Macueus [?, difficult to read name]
