Georeferencing Method
Georeferencing Quick Reference Guide, Version 2012. Georeferenced to the approximate midpoint of Rio Anajás between the city of Anajás and village of Vista Alegre on Ilha de Marajó, Pará. Using Google Maps - Satellite View, located Rio Anajás between the two sites. Used Distance Measurement Tool (Google Maps) to measure a straight line starting at the approximate geographic center of the shore of Anajás (along Rio Anajás) and the approximate geographic center of the shore of Vista Alegre (along Rio Anajás), then halved this distance to approximate the location of the midpoint between the sites along the river. Used Canadensys Lat/Long Crosshairs to find the coordinates of the midpoint, on the adjacent shore. Input coordinates, linear extent (distance from the selected coordinates to the farthest extent of the segment of river, 12976.4 m.), and measurement error (.1 m.) into the MaNIS Georeferencing Calculator to find the uncertainty radius.
