Georeferencing Method
Georeferencing Quick Reference Guide, Version 2012. Georeferenced to 5 km along the road which connects the cities of Cacau Pirêra and Manacapuru (AM-070) in Iranduba, Amazonas. Using Google Maps - Satellite View, located the road which directly connects the two cities. Beginning at the approximate beginning of road AM-070 in Cacau Pirêra (at junction with Av. Cyrillo Neves which leads to Ponte Rio Negro, or the Manaus-Iranduba bridge), used the Distance Measurement Tool (Google Maps) to measure approximately 5 km (5.00006 km) along the road toward Manacapuru. Note: Starting location along road AM-070 is located at the approximate geographic center of the city. Used Canadensys Lat/Long Crosshairs to find the coordinates of the offset along the road. Used the Distance Measurement Tool (Google Maps) again to find the linear extent of the starting location, the beginning of road AM-070, by measuring from the starting location on the road to the farthest extent of road that may be considered the beginning of AM-070. Input offset coordinates, linear extent (1.21997 km), measurement error (0.0005 km), and distance precision (1 km) into the MaNIS Georeferencing Calculator to find the uncertainty radius.
