    Growing in lower, drier areas of picnic area at the edge of birch woodland, ca. 75 feet from river. With Betula and Acer negundo and numerous weeds.

    Fruit reddish black; thorn number does not decline as approach inflorescence. Phenology of specimen: Fruit.
