United States of America. California. Mono Co. Glass Mountain Region: Ford Spring: S-facing slopes appx. 1/4 mile southeast of end of road, overlooking north end of Long Valley.

Habitat
Steep S-facing slopes leading down to Long Valley. Burnt and grazed areas infested with Broumus tectorum, with recovering Artemisia tridentata/Purshia tridentata scrub. With Symphoricarpos rotundifolius, Ribes cereum, Chrysothamnus viscidiflorus, Leymus cinereus, Eriogonum umbellatum, Hesperostipa comata, Ceanothus velutinus, and common annuals including Mentzelia congesta, Phacelia bicolor, Layia glandulosa. Occasional in scrub. Soft pumice soil with basaltic outcrops and occasional granitic outcrops.
