  • Habitat

    Palustrine System. Forested Mineral Soil Wetlands--Red maple-hardwood swamp, most trees dead perhaps caused by rising water from beaver activity.

  • Description

    Tree 10 m tall, the trunk 18 cm diam; bark grey, longitudinally parallel, narrow furrowed; cut leaves and twigs aromatic; tree growing in standing water. Phenology of specimen: Fruit.
