  • Habitat

    In forest understory from ridge base to road below. Contact between Paleozoic limestone and Precambrian granodiorite. Meadow openings on steep west facing slope belwo summit of limestone cliff, in Pseudotsuga menziesii foresst with scattered Pinus ponderosa, Acer glabrum Ribes cereum, and Artemisia campestris var pacifica, Astragalas laxmanii, Picradenia richardsonis. Locally common and scattered.

  • Description

    A picture of the flowers is attached to the specimen sheet. Plants forming thin mats with many non-blooming rosettes; flowers glandular hairy, lobes sky blue, lower lip ddeeply pleated, tube pinkish; anther sacs glabrous, fully dehiscent across connective, canoe-shaped, divergent. Leave tissue taken for DNA analysis. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
