In subtropical moist to wet forest associated with streamside or near streamside vegetation.

Description
Small spreading subshrub growing out of the steep walls of the streambank up to 1 m high and 2 m across; petals white; fruit red to purple. Phenology of specimen: Flower, Fruit.
