Dominican Republic. Pedernales. Sierra de Bahoruco National Park, accessed north of Cabo Rojo on old Alcoa road to Aceitillar; then N on Sendero Bahoruco (jeep trail to Puerto Escondido; access gate near park guardhouse, Caseta #4) toward Caseta #2 (another park guardhouse ca. 15-20 km N).

Habitat
Moist, high elevation forest of Pinus occidentalis with scattered cloud forest associates: with Garrya fadyenii, Arthrostylidium, Myrsine coriacea, Cestrum spp., Fuchsia triphylla, Metastelma, Buddleja domingensis, Miconia lanceolata, M. luteola, Daphnopsis crassifolia, Turpinia paniculata. Locally common in pinelands.

Shrubs 2-4 m tall. Branches erect. Phenology of specimen: Fertile, Flower.
