Description
Tree 30-40 ft. tall x 6-8" [in.] diam. Petals creamy-white. Bark fairly smooth, dirty grey-black spotted with light grey blotches. Leaves deep green glabrous above but pale greenish grey below. Petiole and stem rusty brown. Flowers on erect stalk with short lateral branching and not the usual head-like formation. Two pale creamy-white disk-like petals?? or bracts open to expose pointed center. Fruit has purple-pink tunt at apex but green at base until fully mature when it is all purple colored. The fleshy capsule and a lipped apex, beak-like in form. Usual Melatomataceae. Phenology of specimen: Fruit.
