Habitat
On sand ridges of open haighway right-of-way, open longleaf pine-scrub oak sand ridges, and in openings in plantations of small slash pine on sand ridges. Mostly growing amongst Pinus palustris, Quercus laevis, Quercus incana, Quercus geminata or amongst the slash pines. Abundant.
