Habitat
Moist forest of Pinus occidentalis with diverse hardwood understory/cloud forest. With Symplocos, Brunellia, Didymopanax, Cyathea, Alsophila, Persea, Myrsine, Garrya, Psychotria, Miconia, Eugenia, Ocotea, Calyptranthes, Ilex, Lobelia, Cestrum, Weinmannia. Common near peak, and occasional along ridge.

Shrub to small tree to ca. 4 m tall; flowers white. Phenology of specimen: Flower, Fruit.
